These Russian Lessons are intended for beginners, who are new to learn Russian and who wish to develop basic conversational skills in a short period of time. For beginners I use a lot of visual aids: pictures, cards, tape recorder, grammar tables, whiteboard or flipchart led instruction. For beginners I speak slowly and come to normal speed gradually. I embed knowledge by utilising a lot of repetition for beginners.
In the beginner’s course I ask the students to repeat words after me and providing immediate feedback, correction, and support. For the beginner’s courses most of the content is conversational.
I deliver a lot of simple questions and motivate the students to answer them.
I select texts with gradually increasing complexity of vocabulary and grammar.
For beginners the emphasis is on familiar words from their native language.
